Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup (FIVB)


The FIVB World Volleyball Champions Cup is an international volleyball competition contested by the senior male and female national teams of members of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the world governing body for sport. The tournament was created in 1993 after radical changes to the biggest tournaments organized by the FIVB. The main objective was not to have a single year without two high-level volleyball competitions at the world level, alongside the pre-existing men's and women's world championship, the men's and women's world cup and the tournament. The FIVB Volleyball Women's Challenger Cup is an international volleyball competition played by senior women's national teams from members of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the world's governing body for sport. The inaugural tournament took place from June 20 to 24, 2018 in Lima, Peru. The creation of the tournament was announced in October 2017 (alongside the announcement of the League of Nations) as a joint project between the FIVB, the IMG and 21 national federations. The Challenger Cup serves as a qualifying tournament for the aforementioned League of Nations. The FIVB Challenger Cup takes place before the final round of the League of Nations and the winner wins the right to participate in the League of Nations next year. A corresponding tournament for men's national teams is the FIVB Volleyball Men's Challenger Cup.

The FIVB Volleyball Men's League of Nations is an international volleyball competition played by senior national men's teams of members of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB), the world’s governing body of the sport. The first tournament took place between May and July 2018, and the final took place in Lille, France. Russia won the inaugural edition, beating France in the final. In July 2018, the FIVB announced that the United States would host the next three editions of the 2019-2021 Men's Volleyball League of Nations Final. but it was canceled due to a clash with United States Independence Day (for USA 2020 Hosting).
